Angela Steele manages her life like the projects at her work. Sure, life has thrown her some wild pitches, but Angela adjusts her plans accordingly. With the dreaded move-in only moments away, her best friend suggests an alternative living arrangement offering free housing, travel, and adventure. Angela envisions a luxury vacation, but the house on Shady Way falls far below expectations with its backwoods location, hazardous house, and snarling varmint. 

When Angela stumbles across a dead body, and the cops accuse her son of the murder, Angela sets aside plans for herself and focuses on finding the real killer. As the evidence against her son builds, Angela battles against the local detective while questioning the innocence of everyone who knew the victim, including those closest to her.
